Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia provides the alternative means of living in the country. It rises up to 6 meters during the rainy season. But the locals have learned to cope with the climate and have built houses on stilts on the banks of one of the tributaries. They have built manual drawbridges of wood and rope. The whole community helps and participates in the fishing and they are arguably one of the richest communities in the country.
