Aaron R. Vicencio was born in 1983, Makati City, Philippines. In 2005 Vicencio graduated with a degree in AB Psychology from the Ateneo de Manila University with a dissertation on self efficacy of student athletes.
After graduation, he worked in Mabuhay Magazine, the Philippine Airlines in-flight magazine as an assistant photo editor. He would later be a contributor for the magazine, travelling across the Philippines in search for places and stories unknown to the casual tourist.
He is now a freelance photographer specializing in sports, travel, food, and portrait photography.
His work can be seen in various magazines and publications in the Philippines. He has had
extensive experience covering sports events, ranging from the University Athletics Association
of the Philippines (UAAP), National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Philippine Basketball
Association (PBA) and the 2006 Southeast Asian Games. He has also done print ads for adidas,
Gatorade and the Philippine Long Distance Company (PLDT-Global). His work has been published in the
leading media outlets in the country.
In 2008, Vicencio completed a diploma course in Photojournalism with the Konrad Adenauer Center
for Journalism in partnership with World Press Photo Education, hosted by Ateneo de Manila University.
He also manages and publishes the website, www.meronsapilipinas.com. A project that aims to encourage Filipinos to appreciate and be proud of the habits, traits and natural resources that the Philippines has.
